Therapy Center

Speech Therapy (ST)

Facilitating effective communication by focusing on speech, receptive and expressive language issues are the main goals of ST intervention.

Using play as a medium in collaboration with the family and the rest of the interdisciplinary team, ST aims to carry-over facilitating speech and language development in different contexts using evidence-based practices. ST also addresses swallowing and feeding problems in children.

ST Assessment & Early Intervention

ST Assessment & Early Intervention

Our Pediatric Speech Therapists administer individual assessments using both standardized and non-standardized tools to determine a child's speech and language competencies. They address speech and language delays by educating parents and teachers to optimize learning opportunities at home and in school to facilitate language development. They also use scientifically-proven techniques to improve speech and make use of Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC), as well as PROMPT Therapy, as recommended. By working together with the interdisciplinary team, they address communication issues from the toddler years until adolescence.

Speech Therapy Screening & Provision of Home Programs

Speech Therapy Screening & Provision of Home Programs

Due to the limited number of certified speech therapists that can accommodate the growing number of patients needing intervention, speech therapy screening is an alternative option to deliver intervention services as soon as possible. Children can be scheduled for a one-time screening consultation with the ALRES speech therapists as they await a regular therapy slot. They will be prescribed with a home program to facilitate transdisciplinary intervention by the parent or caregiver in order to address speech and language issues while waiting for a regular therapy slot.

Call for an initial assessment schedule. We will get back to you as soon as soon as a slot becomes available.
