ALRES PHILIPPINES

Missions and Scholarships

As a core value, serving the larger community of children with disabilities and their families is part of our life in ALRES.

Teachers regularly go on mission trips to areas of the country that have limited to no access to critical therapy services and special education. ALRES participates actively in government-led and NGO initiatives to serve the marginalized. Part of our student's tuition and therapy fees go to our ALRES HELP Scholarship Fund that equalizes opportunities for poor children with disabilities for them to receive quality therapy services and inclusive education at a critical period of their development.

Partners

Partners

Strong partnerships with the local government, government agencies, non-government organizations, disabled peoples organizations, parish-based groups, and parent advocacy associations have allowed us to combine resources to advance our common mission. ALRES aims to give greater access to quality healthcare and education to thousands of children with disabilities and their families one community at a time.

Since 2006, the HEART OF SERVICE (HOS) Mission Team has gone from far North (Solsona, Ilocos Norte) to South (Tacloban City and Kalibo, Aklan) and several other communities in- between. Every HOS Mission consists of an interdisciplinary medical, PT, OT, ST & SPED screening, assessment and provision of a home program, alongside a training and empowerment program for parents, teachers, social workers, and community volunteers.

Help Scholars

Help Scholars

At least 5% of the client population of ALRES consists of scholars who pay a minimal participation fee, but receive the same quality of therapy and education from our specialist team. Individual and corporate benefactors help subsidize costs by donating to the common scholarship fund, while others directly sponsor individual children. ALRES also supports residential facilities for abandoned children and adults with disabilities, as well as streetchildren at-risk of having a developmental delay and disability due to malnutrition, inadequate health care and deprivation of early language and cognitive stimulation.
