Physical Therapy (PT)

Children with motor delays and impairments can benefit from PT.

Using evidence-based practices, they can be taught to navigate their environment inspite of physical limitations, maximize functional independence, and actively participate in play and other childhood experiences. For adolescents, PT can promote general fitness and wellness, target weight loss or maintenance goals, and support sports-specific requirements of an active lifestyle.

ALRES has been a partner of the Down Syndrome Association of the Philippines Inc. (DSAPI) in training parents and caregivers for their Quarterly Early Intervention Seminars since 1997. The PT Expert Pediatric Team (EPT) has mastered the delivery of early intervention services from birth until the achievement of Advanced Gross Motor Skills (AGMS) in the home, school and community contexts.
